Our Mississauga dentists use dental 1-Day CEREC crowns to repair damaged or decayed teeth, and to prevent their condition from worsening.
What are Dental Crowns?
Dental crowns are protective tooth-shaped caps that cover a decayed or damaged tooth. Crowns can restore the appearance and function of your teeth.
Crowns are made from durable materials, including porcelain, metal, and ceramic, meaning that with proper care, they can last for many years.
We can colour match your crown to blend in well with your natural teeth, and the natural translucency of porcelain means that your dental crown will be difficult to tell apart from your natural teeth.
What is CEREC?
We use CEREC technology to create dental crowns at our Mississauga dental clinic. CEREC allows our dentists to design and build ceramic dental restorations in one visit to our office.
When are Dental Crowns Used?
Your dentist might suggest a dental crown restoration if the remaining natural tooth is too small to support a filling, inlay or onlay after the decayed or damaged material is removed.
A crown might also be placed after a root canal procedure to support and strengthen the tooth, or to attach a dental bridge.
Crowns can also serve aesthetic purposes, for instance by covering crooked or discoloured teeth.
